Abstract

Abstract
Objectives: In order to investigate the effects of foliar spraying of kaolin on the characteristics of flowers and fruit formation of six commercial olive cultivars in warm conditions.

Materials and Methods: This experiment was performed during 2017 and 2019 in the Dalaho Olive Research Station of kermashah province as a factorial experiment based on completely randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was kaolin as foliar spraying at three levels (kaolin in concentrations of zero as control, 2 and 4%, in mid-July and August (due to warm and dry weather during this period) .The second factor was six varieties of olive cultivars, including Amphisis, Seville, Roughani, Manzanillo, Konservolia and Zard .

Results: The results showed that the reaction of studied olive cultivars to foliar spraying of different levels of kaolin was different, so that the highest percentage of fruit formation was obtained in Konservolia and Zard cultivars with foliar spraying of 4% kaolin, and the lowest percentage of fruit formation was obtained in Roughani varieties and It was obtained without spraying kaolin.

Conclusion. In all studied cultivars, kaolin foliar application improved the measured traits. Therefore, by using kaolin foliar spray, due to the property of reflecting light and reducing the temperature load of trees and maintaining freshness and humidity of olive trees, in two stages of fruit growth, it is possible to improve the state of flowering and fruit formation in different olive cultivars in the regions. Warm and semi-warm.
