Abstract

The current research was conducted in the form of a factorial design in the form of a randomized complete block design in three replications in the crop years of 2020- 2022 in the research farm of Moghan Agricultural Research Center and Natural Resources. The studied factors included planting date and planting density of cover crops each in two levels and cover crop in 12 levels. Also, two control treatments were also considered in the form of pure soybean cultivation with and without spraying against weeds next to each replication. Variance analysis of the data showed that the simple and intraction effect of the test treatments was significant in most of the traits. The maximum value of plant height traits, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, weight of 100 seeds and seed yield in the treatment of hairy vetch among the rows of soybeans on the planting date with a delay and three times the usual density (respectively 100.52 cm, 31 97.2, 2.81, 19.88 grams and 3616 kg per hectare) were obtained. The minimum value of all these traits was also obtained in the first control treatment. The use of cover crops caused the control of weeds and increased yield and yield components of soybean compared to the control treatment. Among the cover crops, the cultivation of hairy vetch, due to its fast growth and greater adaptation to the region, minimal competition with the main plant and also better control of weeds, increased seed yield in soybeans.
