Abstract

Background and Objectives: In order to investigate the synergistic effects of livestock and poultry manure on the Growth and yield of green beans of the canyon cultivar under field conditions, an experiment was conducted in the a randomized complete block design with seven treatments and three replications in a farm located in Manujan County, in the south of Kerman Province.

Materials and Methods: The Experimental treatments included control, application of the manure at 10 and 20 tons/ha, application of the poultry manure at 3 and 5 tons/ha, combination of poultry and livestock manure at 10 tons/ha (3 and 7 tons, respectively) and combination of poultry and livestock manure at 20 tons/ha (5 and 15 tons/ha, respectively). The evaluated traits included plant height, number of leaves, number of side branches, fresh and dry weight of the plant, pod weight, pod length, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, total yield.

Results: The Results of this study showed that the application of a mixture of livestock and poultry manure has a significant effect on the growth characteristics and yield of green beans. This effect includes increasing plant height, number of leaves, number of side branches, fresh and dry weight of shoots, weight and length of pods, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, weight of seeds per pod, and finally, improving the yield of the whole plant. In general, the simultaneous use of a mixture of poultry and livestock manure had positive effects on the growth and yield characteristics of green beans and can be used as an efficient method to improve the quality and yield of agricultural products.

Conclusion: Therefore, according to the results obtained, the effect of a mixture of livestock and poultry manure can be recommended as a strategy for increasing green bean yield. These findings indicate that the integration of organic fertilizers into green bean cultivation practices can increase crop yield and contribute to the development of sustainable agriculture.
