Abstract

Objectives: The agricultural sector is an important source of greenhouse gas emissions. In recent years, the increase in energy consumption of agricultural inputs has led to an increase in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, energy optimization and reduction of environmental pollutants in the form of WEFN can be of particular importance. The purpose of this study is to develop a sustainable agricultural program to reduce greenhouse gases and environmental pollutants in the Sistan catchment.
Materials and Methods: Based on a non-linear multi-objective planning model, this article has determined the amount of energy consumption of agricultural inputs and greenhouse gas emissions to protect sustainable agriculture. Halmedal method is done using GAMS software.
Findings: The results of the model showed that with the implementation of WEFN correlation, in addition to reducing the amount of energy consumption of inputs by 0.25%, the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the entire studied basin has decreased to 0.49%.
Conclusion: In the one-dimensional approach, due to the lack of political coherence and low productivity in the use of resources, the correlation approach has become more prominent. WEFN's collaborative approach can promote comprehensive security of water, energy and food resources, which is accompanied by sustainable and equitable access to resources. Therefore, a comprehensive planning should be done in line with the sustainable development of agriculture, so that expert measures can be taken by changing the structure of the basin's cultivation pattern in order to reduce environmental pollutants.
