The intercroppin cultivation of medicinal plants with fodder plants gives them a high value. Therefore, the aim of this investigation is the reaction of yield, yield components and essential oil of fennel plant to the application of different fertilizers in intercropping with Hairy Vetch and fodder corn.
Materials and Methods: The effect of fertilizer levels (100% NPK chemical fertilizers, biological, vermicompost, combination of 75 and 50% chemical fertilizers+biological fertilizers+vermicompost) and cultivation patterns (pure cultivation of all three plants, intercropping cultivation of 50% fennel+50% fodder plants, 75 % of fennel +25% of forage plants and 25% of fennel+ 5% of forage plants) during the two crop years of 2016-2017 in the Research Institute of Forests and Pastures was investigated as a factorial experiment in a randomized complete block with three replications.
Results: The results showed that the application of cultivation patterns and soil fertility management had a significant effect on yield and yield components and fennel essential oil. The highest number of umbrellas (28), the weight of thousand grain (5.2 gr), the number of sub-branches (21), the number of seeds in the umbrella (347), the diameter of the umbrella (20.4 cm), seed yield ( 2164.5 kg/ha) and essential oil yield (68.8 kg/ha) is related to the treatment of three rows of fennel:three rows of fodder plants along with the application of combined fertilizers.
Conclusion: In general, alternative sources of chemical fertilizers and the use of organic fertilizers,
