Abstract:
Introduction and Objective: Due to the negative effects of chemical fertilizer, the need to use healthier solutions for agricultural production seems essential. Therefore, managing industrial slaughterhouse waste as a rich source of nutrients and amino acids has been one of the main concerns of researchers in recent decades. In this regard, a study was conducted to evaluate the growth of basil plant under the conditions of using blood powder from slaughterhouses and the effects of microorganisms on improving the availability of nutrients and amino acids in blood powder.
Materials and Methods: This experiment was conducted as a factorial in a completely randomized design with three replications in the greenhouse of Mohaghegh Ardabili University in the winter of 1403 as pot culture. The experimental treatments included blood powder at four levels (0, 1.5, 3 and 4.5 g/kg) and the second factor was the inoculation of protein hydrolyzing bacteria and growth stimulants in three treatments (control, Bacillus licheniformis bacteria, Bacillus subtilis bacteria).
Results: Blood powder at 6 g/kg caused a 25.9% increase in plant height, an increase (59.85, 0.65%) in root fresh weight and root dry weight, respectively, compared to the treatment without blood powder. Inoculation with Licheniformis bacteria increased the fresh dry weight of the shoot by (27.97, 35.53%) in the treatment with 6 g/kg blood powder. The highest number of leaves (27.7) and the highest root length (17.95 cm) were obtained at a blood powder concentration of 6 g/kg along with inoculation with bacillus licheniformis bacteria.
