Abstract
More than thousand tuna of spent mushroom compost (SMC) are annually producing in mushroom production units in our country. It's not only used forever, but also it's occupied more suburb arable land of mushroom production units. Hence, to study the effects of washed and unwashed SMC on growth and flowering of cut "Hanza" stock flowers, an experiment was conducted based on completely randomized design with 5 replications in Mohaghegh Ardabili University. Treatments was various ratio of washed and unwashed SMC (0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 %). Traits were measured at four times during plant growth cycle. The results of variance analysis revealed that treatments significantly (P≤0.05) affected leaf number, chlorophyll content and plant height. In final measurement, plants treated by washed SMC at rates 30% significantly produced the highest plant leaf number(53.8) and height (25 cm) and chlorophyll content (51.11 ). Plans fast flowered in all treatments compared to control. The highest florescence maximum (Fm) and florescence variable (Fv) were found in plants treated by washed SMC at rates 20%. The highest photochemical quantum yield (Fv/Fm) was found in plants treated with washed SMC at rates 10, 20 and 40%. Plants treated with washed SMC produced the highest stomata conductivity (95.28 mmol/m2s) which significantly differed with other treatments and control.
